Aussie Slang: Ranga

By request long ago, here is one of my new favorite slang terms, Ranga. This means redhead, which is also what some people call stick matches (yay, brand name associations!). I'm not 100% sure where it originates from, but it fun to say. Jess says that it may come from O-RANGA-tan. Which makes sense, Jess's hair is the same color as orangutans. I just call her orangutan though, not ranga; she hits me when i do that.
